ABOUT US
Established in 1968, the United Way of Suwannee Valley is committed to advancing the common good in our community by building strong relationships with community partner impact agencies that share our common goal: improving people’s lives and strengthening our communities. Together, we strive to make progress in supporting health, education, and financial stability throughout the Suwannee Valley area.
Our impact ranges from assisting homeless individuals through alleviating homelessness, homeless prevention through grant funding and case management; fighting for a healthier community through our involvement in Community Health Assessments (CHA), supporting the distribution of dental kits to elementary school students; finally, we promote child literacy through our ReadingPals program.
Additionally, United Way of Suwannee Valley participates in the United Ways of Northeast Florida’s 2-1-1 call center which provides information and referral services for personal and family crisis situations. 2-1-1 handled 2,779 calls from the United Way of Suwannee Valley service area during fiscal year 2016-2017.
